Iraqi Trademark Registrations will not be extended to Kurdistan.
A new Guidance issued in June 2021 raised by the Kurdish Trademark Registrar suspending the legal extension of protection of the Iraqi registered trademarks up to Kurdistan district until further notice.
Previously, it was possible to extend the legal protection of a Registered trademark in Iraq to Kurdistan, while due to the current decision, the trademarks should be filed solely directly at the Kurdish Trademark Office.
